O.G. – A wise man with life experience; Old School Gangster.

To be a “True O.G.” requires a level of grit & perseverance that average minds cannot comprehend. For years, @bishopthadjtrueog paid dues and earned respect during a golden age of Hip Hop in the late 80’s – early 90’s. It was his time spent learning from Baltimore legend DJ Class after school and listening to Frank Ski on WEEB AM that led Bishop to explore a thriving Hip Hop scene in Brooklyn, New York.

Running the streets of NY gave Bishop a true hands-on experience. He was able to carry crates for legendary DJ’s, buy rare vinyl for his crew in Baltimore, and even buy wraps from the infamous vending machines of the legendary D&D studios (RIP). The allure of the streets may have led Bishop away from the scene; however, his ears always stayed glued to the Beats.

This debut album is entitled “True O.G.”; based on the Mix Show/Podcast of the same name and featuring the finest combination of street-wise, hard knock music with intelligent and thought-provoking dialogue in between. No matter what age you are, respect is earned and never given. If you attack the foundation of a culture that is 40+ years in the making, that attack will not be taken lightly to a True O.G..
